Climate change is the most pressing issue facing the world today. And although most people, from every creed and culture, will likely agree to some degree with that statement, the issue and what to do about it can seem quite abstract from our everyday lives.
We are busy, climate change is complicated and is me not eating roast beef on a Sunday really going to make a whole lot of difference?
Short answer: probably not. But there are things that we can all do to turn back the tide of rising global temperatures and I believe it starts with understanding climate change a bit better.
This is what I hope to do with this site, make the issue of global warming a bit more palpable, understandable, and relatable to our everyday lives with short, sharp engaging articles and info. (This might be hard for a feature writer but I’ll do my best.)
I want to do this because I believe, though one person can’t make a huge difference on their own, collective individual actions will, and keeping the climate at the front and centre of our politicians’ minds is really important to make the big changes needed that only governments can make happen and fast. I also want to remind people that we also have power not just as voters, but as consumers.
Climate change mitigation isn’t an issue of the Right or Left, politically speaking, or at least not in the UK and many other nations, It has support across the political spectrum. The trouble is, as an issue, it tends to get side-lined a lot, for many reasons, but that’s why we have to keep the conversation going anyway we can.

About Me
I am a London-based energy and technology journalist who has covered climate change throughout my ten-year career.
I am a wife and a mother to one 14-month old son. Before becoming a parent – and pre-coronavirus – I mostly liked to travel.
Anyway, I don’t really like writing about myself that much but you can find out more info on my professional work here – heidivella.com.
